Sheridan’s After-School Program mirrors the school’s child-centered philosophy. Children are encouraged to make their own choices, to be creative, and to pursue their individual interests. Different activities are offered each day.
After School Care (“Ex-Club”)
Ex-Club, our aftercare program, is offered every day until 6pm and is available for all students grades K-8. With plenty of outside and play time, plus a healthy snack, Ex-Club is a student favorite. Students in the program are able to participate in arts and crafts, projects, games, study hall, and enrichment classes.
Enrichment Classes
Enrichment classes are offered for students in K-8 each semester, including fast-paced options such as breakdancing and karate, more mellow options like cooking or ceramics, and everything in between!
Instrumental Program
Sheridan offers private music lessons to students in Grades K-8. Instruments include piano, ukulele, guitar, drums, and voice training. Student recitals are held in the winter and the spring.
Full and Half-Day Programs
Auxiliary Programs also offer full and half-day programs for families in need of child care when school is not in session due to conferences or other special schedules. The programs typically include an outing to a local attraction, games and art at Sheridan, and outdoor play. Program announcements and registration forms are sent in News & Notes.
Founded in 1927, we are a vibrant K-8 progressive school with no more than 230 students, an engaged community, and a fierce commitment to both equity and diversity.
